Code of Conduct

Player Code of Conduct:

As a player I understand that these are the rules that I need to behave by when I am with the HDNA representative team. If I break these rules I understand that this may have consequences and my position in the team may have to be reconsidered. I will read all these rules before signing and if I have questions or don’t understand I will ask my parents or a representative of HDNA to explain to me first before I sign.

  1. I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of everyone in the Netball community.

  2. Refrain from conduct which could be regarded as sexual, bullying or harassment.

  3. I understand playing with HDNA we respect players, coaches, officials, spectators and other teams. That the spirit of Netball is more important than winning and sportsmanship is an important part of being a representative player.

  4. I will care and respect the uniform and equipment provided to me.

  5. I will be honest with my coach concerning illness and injury and my ability to train and engage fully in the game.

  6. Conduct myself in a responsible manner listening to feedback, refraining from bad language or displays of aggressive behaviour.

  7. Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour at all times.

  8. Abide by the rules and respect the decision of the umpires.  Be courteous and use the correct process when seeking a rule clarification.

  9. I will train and play to the best of my ability understanding that my engagement and attitude affects others.

  10. I will work with my coaches to achieve the best possible outcome for each game and actively listen and implement feedback

  11. I will not engage in practices that affect sporting performance (alcohol, tobacco and drug use).  I understand that the use of these substances may lead to being expelled from the team

  12. I understand that the inappropriate use of Social Media can damage the reputation of both HDNA, Netball and other players within our playing group. So I will make sure the posts I make will be positive and not hurt others.

  13. I understand that whilst at State Age and at Carnivals I have to stay with my team. At these events I am not allowed to leave the accommodation, tents or courts without prior approval of my coach or manager. This is for my own safety and is a key responsibility of HDNA when I am under their care and is not negotiable.

I have read and agree to abide by both the Netball Queensland General Code of Behaviour and the Player Code of Behaviour during the 2020 HDNA Representative season in its entirety.

Parent/Spectator Code of Conduct:

HDNA seeks to instil positive character-building traits in all our players through the demonstration of good sportsmanship, respect for others, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. 4. I will not encourage any behaviours or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the players.

  5. I will teach my child to play by the spirit of the rules and to resolve conflicts without engaging in unacceptable behaviour.
